Or how to go from a week of data processing to 30 seconds.

With the Winesee company, we have been offering innovative applications in the world of wine since 2015, and I had actually written an analysis of the technologies used behind the "Quel vin êtes-vous ?" platform on the blog a little less than a year ago.
And one of our achievements is having managed to transform an information processing process that could take up to a full week for an employee into a digital solution that generates results in 30 seconds.
This process is the management of all the tasting notes of a wine competition in order to identify the best samples and award them medals.
The state of the art
Today, in France, the vast majority of competitions that award medals to the wines you drink are conducted using a paper tasting sheet on which tasters must write their notes by hand for each sample tasted.
Some competitions judge up to 1000 wines, each tasted by at least three different people and sometimes according to up to 5 criteria, which gives you at the very least 15,000 notes to transcribe into an Excel file, by hand, in order to calculate the winners.
The workload is therefore colossal, the medal results cannot be announced on the day of the competition, and organizing such events becomes all the more complex.

Winesee Contest
Since 2017, and thanks to the trust of the Val de Loire wine competition, we have developed an innovative digital solution that notably makes it possible to:
- Speed up the entry of notes by tasters using tablets
- Facilitate the organization of the competition
- Avoid any transcription errors
- Build more comprehensive tasting sheets
- Randomize the tasting order
- Easily adapt to the event's contingencies (absences, changes, etc.)
And most importantly, the results are known the same day, automatically calculated in 30 seconds.

As a result, tasters love it because for many it's easier for them, and competitions save time (and money) while contributing to the digitalization of the wine world.
I am glad to be able to contribute with Winesee to the digitalization of the wine/wine-growing world with such projects, and I hope that many more competitions will opt for this new solution in the years to come!
