Access Disk Management on Windows 10 & 11

The way to access Disk Manager on Windows has changed—discover how to do it in two simple steps!

On Windows, when you plug in a storage device, it appears directly in "This PC".

But if the device in question doesn't contain any partition (often the case with new hard drives), then it simply won't appear...

This is why Windows has a utility called "Disk Management" to manage all disks as well as their partitions.

To display this utility, nothing could be simpler, you'll only need two easy steps:

Step 1

Right-click on the "Start" icon, at the bottom left of the taskbar like this:

Step 2

Click on the "Disk Management" option available in the drop-down menu!

Then, the utility should appear as in the screenshot below:

There you go, you're ready to create and modify your partitions on Windows.
