The 9 best recruitment sites for developers

The goal of this article is to list the recruitment platforms (also called "job boards") that could be considered essential when looking for a position as a developer.

Note that the sites presented necessarily offer permanent or fixed-term contract positions, so you won't find any freelance mission search platforms here, that will be the subject of a future article.

The platforms below are separated into three different categories:

• Specialized sites (in development or at least in digital)
• General sites
• "Uncategorized" sites (social networks or aggregators)

Specialized sites

Personally, these are the sites I would recommend prioritizing during your search, because these sites are generally more aligned with developers' expectations, potentially contain fewer irrelevant listings, and are posted by companies with a genuine digital culture.

WeLoveDevs

This is THE trendy tech recruitment platform because it is perfectly aligned between the expectations of companies and those of candidates: a job board by devs, for devs, that combines the best of what's out there:

This is one of the first recruitment platforms to have highlighted employer branding in France, meaning putting companies in the spotlight rather than simple listings.

Welcome to the jungle is not specialized for developers, but for all digital jobs, with some very great companies present on the platform.

ChooseYourBoss

The platform highlights its matching algorithm between developers and companies present, based on all the information you've entered in your profile, your resume, etc...

The positioning is interesting, because the platform plays on the fact that the developer often has a choice (less so as a junior) of the company they want to work for, and registered companies know this and accept it.

This site isn't necessarily the one that gathers the most listings, but its partnership with the SkillValue platform allows it to offer recognized technical tests to strengthen candidates' profiles.

General sites

Even though specialized sites offer many advantages in terms of search filters, listing quality, positions offered, and often very polished company presentations, being present on the main general sites sometimes remains a mandatory step.

Indeed

Indeed is simply the world leader in online job search, it's not uncommon for even listings posted on specialized job boards to also be published on Indeed in parallel.

With more than 50,000 job listings available in France, Monster is an essential recruitment site, regardless of the industry or job sought.

Uncategorized sites

LinkedIn

LinkedIn's strength lies in the fact that the platform already has access to a great deal of your professional information, which allows you to have access to interesting recommendations, but also sometimes to be able to apply in just a few clicks.

The other strong point is that LinkedIn allows you to see at a glance the contacts in your network who currently work at the hiring company, which could possibly make it easier to request an internal referral.

Google Jobs

Google now offers its job listing aggregation platform, working in the same way as Google Shopping. Even though searching for a position solely through this service seems complicated to me, it does allow you to come across certain listings that go unnoticed on traditional recruitment sites.

To find it, you just need to type "developer position..." into Google!
