I know it, you have surely already said the sentence:
"It's impossible for this to happen, and yet it still bugs out"
or even:
"My application only crashes when the minute digit is divisible by 12… That's improbable"
Well, know that you are not alone, far from it, improbable bugs are one of the specificities of our job as developers, but some still go beyond the stage of a simply improbable bug; they are legendary!

This is also the case with the famous story of the email that couldn't travel farther than 500 miles (800 kilometers), whose story we translated in this article: https://code-garage.fr/blog/laffaire-de-le-mail-limite-a-800-kilometres-de-distance
A compilation of the worst bugs
Fortunately, thanks to Harley Hicks, it is now possible to console yourself (or have a good laugh) with his carefully curated list, of improbable bugs and the stories that go with them on the site: "500 Mile Email".
Precisely in homage to the story mentioned above.
One of the stories that made me particularly laugh is titled "The greatest bug I never fixed”, which I won't spoil for you, but which I'll describe in four keywords: World of Warcraft, Serialization and Alcohol.
And if you simply want to receive a new email every week with absurd stories about programming, the site has a newsletter: https://500mileemail.substack.com/
Feel free to share your favorite story in the comments, I'll go read them!
