Yes, you read that right, but wait, don't leave!

Those who know me are aware that I'm not a huge fan of social networks, at least not as a consumer, but I take the time every day to publish my articles on my three main networks, namely LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.

These networks allow me to share my work, but also to receive feedback (increasingly plentiful) from readers who follow my blog very regularly and to exchange as much as possible around the world of web development.

I'm really pleased that my articles can help more and more developers, but I also know that the blog format, with textual and relatively long content, isn't suited to everyone.

No need to panic, I'm carrying on with the blog as before!

I've decided to take on a new challenge, and to experiment with a completely new content format, the total opposite of the one I continue to offer at the moment.

Unlike articles averaging 800 words where I try to convey sometimes fairly complex concepts, I'm launching a new format of short videos to break down a single concept in... 30 seconds!

I know that the audience for this type of content is completely different from my usual audience: not necessarily the same technical knowledge, not the same way of consuming information, and definitely not the same goals.

This might be an opportunity for some to make a transition from exclusively watching video content to reading longer articles that are richer in information, as they move through the videos.

Or maybe not, but I want to try the experiment!

When I asked myself which platform to publish this content on, two constraints emerged:

  • A short format, but not an ephemeral one, and one to which I can add a bit of textual information
  • The creation process needs to be quick and not take me more than a quarter of an hour per day on top of my daily articles.

So I decided to invest my time in two platforms: Instagram, which I was already using but very little, and TikTok, because even if I'm not a fan of the content currently found on the platform, it's up to me to change that (on my own humble scale).

If this format interests you, I invite you to take a look at the first videos released on your favorite platform!
