# Why You Should Start a Blog as a Junior Developer?

More and more junior developers are asking me if it's a good idea for them to start a blog. And contrary to what some might think, my answer is: yes, and yes again!

First of all, it's not because I have a blog that I can't encourage other developers to do the same. My goal being to share my experience to help the developer community grow, the more interesting and eclectic content there is, the more it lifts everyone up!

Next, I find that there's still too little content "by juniors, for juniors", because while a senior can bring their technical skills and professional experience, they can't bring their vision and feelings as a junior:

• describing how easy (or not) it is to get into a technology
• feedback on their training
• the reasons that pushed them to take this path
• the daily life of a student/junior dev
• ...

And many other things that a senior simply cannot provide!

Or at least, their feelings/experience as a junior will often reflect a different era, especially in IT

And as I often say, from the moment an article truly helps ONE person, it's already a win and the time invested is already worth it. Moreover, a junior will often have a way of explaining things and a vision closer to the reality of other junior developers!

Finally, a blog with a bit of content will always be a positive point on a profile, knowing how to explain something is the best demonstration of one's own mastery!

And if you're afraid of not being legitimate, make sure to highlight the fact that the blog is run by a junior developer, that will encourage readers to be more forgiving!

One last thing, if you're taking on this adventure, I'd advise starting with an existing blogging platform to start publishing as quickly as possible (Medium, Ghost, Wordpress, etc.).

And if you feel like building something from scratch, nothing stops you from doing it later and migrating your old articles over.

Too many blogs have died in their infancy because they took too long to develop, don't make the same mistake!
