Code Authorship

The authorship of source code is a fundamental principle of intellectual property in the field of programming.

This refers to the right of the software creator to be recognized as the author of their code, and therefore to hold the copyright, just as with an artistic work.

In France, the law is very clear on this point:

When a developer creates source code, they automatically hold the copyright to that code, which means they are the initial owner of the authorship rights.
